IS IT ME, BUT ME THINKS HILARY ROSEN HIT THE BULLS-EYE WITH HER REMARKS
Before you shoot the messenger, listen to my reasoning. While its true as President Obama correctly expressed "spouses should never be in the debate" the fact is Mitt Romney did bring his wife into the equation. (A) He listens to his wife. Therefore (B) his wife's experience helps influence his decisions. And (C) while it's also true that being a housewife and a mother is a 'real' job, there is a big difference between the experience of Mrs Romney to the vast majority of women in America. The big difference of course is money. It was her decision not to work, she had the option.
Obviously we can never really compare anybody's lives. And Mrs. Romney appears to be an amazingly perfect potential first wife to be. (Mitt you did good.) And I fully understand how difficult that must have been doing that as Mrs. Romney did while she had her medical issues.
But the truth here is that she really hasn't had to deal with the real world money worries. When it comes to finances, I'm pretty sure she never wanted for anything. She never had to choose between seeing a doctor or skipping a meal. She never had to worry about being thrown out into the street because she was a day late on rent. I'm sorry that's how I see it. Hilary Rosen might have expressed it wrong, but the sentiments were correct. And I'm sorry, to try to make a political issue out of this is really ridiculous.
